The Great British Songbook

Spread a Little Happiness is a theatrical journey through the hits and headlines of the last 100 years, and comes to the Corn Exchange for one night only, following a Christmas season at Salisbury Playhouse. From the racy refrains of Music Hall and the stirring anthems of war, to the blockbuster musicals of the 80s, Britain boasts a roll call of songwriters expert in raising the spirits, touching hearts and nurturing national pride. In this new show, music by Novello, Coward, Lloyd Webber and others are showcased by a quartet of performers. Songs including Keep the Home Fires Burning, As Long as He Needs Me from Oliver! and Memory from Cats provide a stunning soundtrack to the modern history of Britain.
